Publication Ethics
The journal adheres to ethical standards in the manuscript publication process. It expects authors to provide scientifically accountable information, both theoretically and empirically, from reliable sources. The publication guidelines emphasize ethical behavior and the dissemination of knowledge, free from discrimination and conflicts of interest based on COPEs Best Practice Standard.
1. Ethical Guidance for Journal Publication
Considerations regarding ethical aspects are essential when publishing a manuscript, a requirement also upheld by IJID. This journal publishes articles that draw from credible sources, encompassing both theoretical and empirical studies. It is imperative to adhere to a coherent and esteemed knowledge network as outlined in the Ethics Guidelines for Journal publications, reflecting the commitment of authors and supporting institutions.
To uphold the scientific method and support research quality, all articles in IJID undergo a rigorous peer-review process. It is crucial for all parties involved in manuscript publication, including writers, editors, reviewers, publishers, and the public, to agree upon and adhere to expected standards of ethical conduct.

The commitment extends to ensuring that any broadcasting, reprinting, or commercial interests do not influence editorial decisions.
2. Publication Decisions
The Chief Editor, in collaboration with other editors and reviewers, makes informed publication decisions after thorough peer-review and assessment of the manuscript's content and quality.
3. Non-discrimination
The editors and reviewers evaluate submitted manuscripts solely based on their scientific content, without any bias related to the author's race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy.
4. Confidentiality
All submitted articles are treated with confidentiality, and editors and reviewers are prohibited from disclosing any sensitive information related to the manuscripts to unauthorized individuals.
5. Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
Reviewers are obliged to disclose any conflicts of interest and must not use unpublished materials for their personal gain. Ethical behavior is expected from all parties involved in the publication process.
Duty and Obligation of the Reviewer
1. Contribution to editorial process
The reviewer's role is crucial in the editorial decision-making process. They contribute to decisions regarding manuscript acceptance and offer constructive feedback to improve the quality of the author's work.
2. Promptness
Reviewers are expected to promptly review assigned manuscripts, and if they cannot meet the deadline, the editor may assign another qualified reviewer to ensure timely processing.
3. Privacy and Confidentiality
Reviewers are required to maintain confidentiality regarding the reviewed manuscripts and refrain from discussing the content with unauthorized individuals.
4. Objectivity Standard
Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts based on established standards and provide respectful feedback to authors, ensuring consistency in their decisions and recommendations.
5. Reference Citation/Acknowledgment
Reviewers must cite relevant sources and verify the validity and novelty of the references from reputable journals.
6. Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
Reviewers involved in the peer-review process must maintain confidentiality and refrain from using any specific information or ideas obtained during the review for personal gain. They should not review manuscripts that present conflicts of interest stemming from competitive, collaborative, or any other relationships or connections with the authors, companies, or institutions associated with the research.
Duty and Obligation of the Author
1. Reporting Standard
Authors are required to provide accurate and accountable information in their submissions to IJID. All data presented must be properly cited from reliable sources and referenced within the article. Deliberate fraud or misleading statements are considered unethical and unacceptable.
2. Data Access and Retention
Authors may be requested to explain the data and information presented in their manuscript. It is their responsibility to promptly provide such data and information to the editor and reviewers to facilitate the correction process, following the guidelines set by IJID.
3. Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original. Proper citations should be used whenever utilizing others' words or work. Any form of plagiarism or citation issues will lead to automatic rejection of the manuscript. The journal's complete policy on plagiarism can be found in the Plagiarism Policy.
4. Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication
Authors must not submit the same manuscript simultaneously to other publishers while it is under consideration by IJID. This practice is considered unethical and will result in the rejection of the manuscript.
5. Acknowledgment of Sources
Every manuscript submitted to IJID should appropriately acknowledge and credit all cited authors. All acknowledgments must be clearly listed in the Reference List.
6. Authorship of the Paper
Authorship should be limited to those individuals who have made a significant contribution to the research presented in the manuscript. Authors listed in the manuscript are responsible for keeping co-authors informed about the review process. If the manuscript is accepted, all authors are required to provide and sign a statement declaring that the research is their original work
7. Hazards and Human or Animal Subjects
If the research involves the use of chemicals, procedures, or tools that may pose hazards not inherent in their usual use, the author must clearly identify and disclose these aspects in the text.
8. Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Authors should disclose any factors that could influence their research in their manuscript. All sources of financial support for the research should be stated.
9. Fundamental Errors in Published Works
If an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, they must promptly inform the editor or publisher of the journal and collaborate with the editor to either withdraw the work or make necessary improvements.
Malpractice Statement
In any form of established ethical publications, malpractice will lead to the application of sanctions and other actions needed to ensure all articles published by The Indonesian Journal of Infectious Diseases (IJID). In cases of suspected misconduct, the Editors and the Editorial Board will use the best practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to assist them in resolving the complaint and dealing fairly with the misconduct. This will include an investigation of the Editors' allegation. A submitted manuscript that is found to contain such misconduct will be rejected. In cases where the published paper has been found to contain such misconduct, the retraction may be published and linked to the original article.
Plagiarism Policy
To maintain the highest level of academic integrity, all papers submitted to The Indonesian Journal of Infectious Diseases (IJID) undergo a plagiarism screening using the Turnitin plagiarism detection tool. Papers found to involve plagiarism or self-plagiarism will be promptly rejected. The submitted papers must have a similarity level of less than 25%.
